Inviting participants to the 2010 Ugadi Event

We invite all the Telugus of the Greater Houston to attend our Vikruthi Naama Samvatsara Ugadhi Vedukalu on March 20th. Come to have fun, good food, traditional and modern Telugu cultural performances.
Come to experience the vibrancy of Telugu Families staying involved in the community.
Come to know what is up with Telugus in Greater Houston.
Come to start your New Year with Family and Friends.
Come to make new friends.
As you all know, Ugadhi is our Telugu New Year and we celebrate the start of the new year with a taste of our “Ugadhi Pacchadi”.   Just like our Patchadi which is a combination of six tastes – “Shadruchula Sammelanam”, we would like to have six (6) categories of events and they are listed below.
• Sangeetam
• Natyam
• Natikalu (Hasya bharitham or Vinodadayakam)
• Geyalu (Lalitha or Brunda Gaanam)
• Kavitalu (Kavithalu or Padyalu)
• Eka Patrabhinayam

We invite the participants to build the theme of “Ugadi” into their entries. We will be looking for ‘variety’ in the entries and encourage participants to cover all varieties of programs (folk, classical, pouranikam, patriotic, and cinema) etc.
There will be a Ugadhi Patchadi competetion, so please submit your entries.

Some guidelines:
• 1) Please respond latest by March 1st 2010 with all requested information above.
• 2) Group performances are encouraged.
• 3) Total time allotted for a group performance is 10 minutes.
• 4) Individual performances will be restricted to 4 minutes.
• 5) Only current TCA members are allowed to participate.
• 6) Language of performance should be Telugu or Sanskrit.
• 7) Limit one item per participant as we have to give an opportunity to everyone.

This is one of the biggest events of the year for the Houston Telugu Community every year. Participants are invited to send their program details. The details needed are :
• Type of performance
• Names of all participants and their ages
• Group contact mail ID and phone number
• Duration of your item
